Disabling Windows Sounds

We recommend disabling as many other sound generating applications as possible on your PC. The last thing your neighbors want to hear is "Donk" as some error pops up on your machine at 2 AM. Luckily, we can easily avoid this situation by changing a couple of settings in Windows. Just follow the steps below to disable any Windows sounds:

  1. In the windows search (bottom left of your screen) type "System sounds"
  2. In the search results, look for an select "Change system sounds"(control panel)
  3. In the dialog that appears, set the sound scheme drop down selection to "No Sounds"
  4. Next, ensure that the "Play Windows Startup Sound" checkbox near the bottom of the dialog is NOT checked.
  5. Finally click Apply and then OK

Ultimately, the best plan is to also limit other applications that are run on your eCarillon PC as other programs can still make sounds even with the settings above. As long as eCarillon is the only program running on the machine and the settings above are configured you should have little to no risk of an unintended noise being broadcast to your community.
